Today I joined the ranks of women across the world who are praised as mothers. Having always been the one doing the celebrating it was a unique experience to be the one being celebrated.
One year ago, over Mother's Day brunch we broke the news we would be entering the realm of parenting, that our mothers would be commemorated next year as grandmothers. I was scared, it didn't feel real. How could we ever bring another life into the world? How could I possibly make it through the excitement of brunch with morning sickness?
We made it through and now we have a perfect little boy to show for it. The trials of the past year have all been worth it, even the pregnancy and four days of labor. I know there will be good days and bad but if we work together we will make it through.
