We've Got the Blue's

This weekend was wonderful; family, friends, and good music. The camping was better than I thought it would be. I have always loved camping but the idea of doing it with an infant had me a little nervous. I am sure my trepidation would have been warranted were it not for the “Buckingham Palace”. We have a 12’ x 20’ canvas outfitters tent with a woodstove, queen size bed, carpets, playpen, changing table, and table and chairs. Grandma and Poppa Colorado brought the camp stove. We really had quite the setup considering we were only camping for the weekend in the middle of Greeley, Colorado.
Boo and I showed up late Friday night after I got off work, Dad already had the “Palace” set up. Saturday morning the three of us slept in, it was perfect. After breakfast we made our way to the stadium. There was fresh sod laid over the rodeo dirt so everyone could lounge about and listen to the Blue’s. There were two stages, one at either end. When the band on one stage finished playing you just turned 180 degrees and you could see the next band. The music was great but the stadium was a little too hot for Boo and me. This was where the camping came in handy; because we were camped just outside Boo and I were able to hang out in the tent where it was much cooler and still hear the music.
The weekend I had been dreading, the weekend I thought I didn’t have the energy for turned out to be exactly the opposite of what I expected. I was able to relax and be with the people I love. Who could ask for anything more?
