This got me to thinking, how could I get Boo more involved with vaccuming? I called my mom and told her my idea, it was time to get him his own vaccum. A trip to the toy store was needed, well, a trip to Target's toy department as we don't have a Toys-R-Us in town. We started searching the toy department for children's cleaning supplies but had very little luck. I was also hoping to find a broom, dust pan, and maybe a little feather duster. Boo is becoming more of a handful when shopping so we both missed the vacuum the first time around and never found the others.
I was a bit perturbed when the only place we could find a toy vacuum was the girls section and was very pink. Are we really teaching our little boys it isn't okay to help around the house? Having said that, the vaccum is very cool. It makes noise and comes apart to be a hand-held dust buster as well.
Now, the vaccum has been sitting around the house for a few days. We showed him how it works but he hasn't really taken an interest in it so I decided to start vaccuming today and see what he did. It was awesome. He went and grabbed his little vaccum and started following me around the house. It did take quite a bit longer to maneauver around him but I was right, including him helped me get it done. Now if we could only get him to turn it off when he is done playing with it we would be golden.
